Ivana Hreščak (born May 31, 2000 in Postojna ) is a Slovenian chess player .

She studies graphics and interactive communication at the University of Ljubljana .

successes

In 2014 she and Laura Unuk won the U18 team European championship for women in Iași and received an individual gold medal for her result of 5.5 points from 7 games on the second board. For the Slovenian women's national team, she also played on the second board behind Laura Unuk at the 2015 Mitropapokal in Mayrhofen . In 2017 she won the European U18 female rapid chess championship in Budva . At the 2015 European Team Championship in Reykjavík , she played on the reserve board, and Batumi on the third board in 2019 .

She plays club chess in Slovenia for ŠK Postojna . Since the 2017/18 season she has also played for SK Baden in the Austrian women's chess division and the 2nd East League.

Since June 2019 she has held the title of International Women's Champion. She achieved the norms for this at the 5th international tournament in Grosseto-Prugna in July 2018, at the U18 European Women's Championship in Riga in August 2018 , where she finished fifth, and with overachievement (only half a point was missing for a WGM standard) at the Mediterranean Flowers WGM tournament in March 2019 in Rijeka , which she won unbeaten with 6.5 points from 8 games.

Their Elo rating is 2196 (as of June 2020). This puts her in fifth place in the Slovenian women's Elo ranking. Her highest rating was 2230 in September 2018.
