Grosseto-Prugna ( Corsican U Grussetu ) is a French commune in the southern part of the island of Corsica with 3,244 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Corse-du-Sud department . Grosseto-Prugna belongs to the Ajaccio arrondissement and the canton of Taravo-Ornano . The inhabitants are called Grossetais (Corsican: Grussitacci ).
geography
Grosseto-Prugna stretches from the Gulf of Ajaccio (with the village of Porticcio directly on the Mediterranean Sea) far into the hinterland. The core town is on the Marcuggio river , a tributary of the Taravo . Grosseto-Prugna is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ajaccio in the north and northwest, Bastelicaccia and Cauro in the north, Bastelica in the northeast, Santa-Maria-Siché in the east, Cardo-Torgia in the southeast and Albitreccia in the south.
The municipality is located in the Ajaccio wine region . Route Nationale 196 runs through the municipality .
