Appietto ( Corsican Appiettu ) is a municipality on the Mediterranean island of Corsica in France . It belongs to the Corse-du-Sud department , the Ajaccio arrondissement and the Gravona-Prunelli canton .

Geography

Appietto borders in the west on the Mediterranean Sea , more precisely on the Golfe de Sagone and the Golfe de Lava . The neighboring municipalities are Calcatoggio in the north, Valle-di-Mezzana in the northeast, Sarrola-Carcopino in the east, Afa in the southeast and Alata in the south. The historic center of the village is 480 meters above sea level and consists of the villages of Teppa, la Piuvanaccia and le Marchesaccio. Former villages are called Volpaja, Lava, Listincone, Picchio and Piscia Rossa.
