geography

Vico is the main town in the Cruzzini low mountain range . Localities are next to Vico Chigliani, Nesa and Appriciani.

history

The once fortified town of Vico was the scene of a massacre against the Leca family by the Genoese governor Spinola in 1459 . The place served as a residence for the Bishops of Sagone in the 16th century . The monastery , which was built in 1481, was given its present form in the 19th century under Bishop Casanelli d'Istria.
