Cognocoli-Monticchi ( Corsican Cugnocolu è Muntichji ) is a French commune in the Corse-du-Sud department on the Mediterranean island of Corsica . It belongs to the canton of Taravo-Ornano in the Arrondissement of Ajaccio . The settlement area is 335 meters above sea level. The neighboring communities are Albitreccia in the north and northeast, Guargualé in the east, Pila-Canale in the southeast, Sollacaro in the south, Serra-di-Ferro in the southwest, Coti-Chiavari in the west and Pietrosella in the northwest. The residents call themselves Cognocolais .
