Cauro ( Corsican Cavru ) is a municipality on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica . It belongs to the Corse-du-Sud department , the Ajaccio arrondissement and the Taravo-Ornano canton . The residents call themselves Cavrais .

Geography and infrastructure

The settlement area is on average 370 meters above sea level. The neighboring municipalities are Bastelicaccia in the west and north-west, Eccica-Suarella in the north, Bastelica in the east and Grosseto-Prugna in the south.

The Prunelli flows through the hamlet of Capitoro, which belongs to Cauro.

The route forestière 1 branched off from Route nationale 196 at Cauro and then led through the Forêt de Quarceta . The route forestière 12 branched off also from this national road and tangierte the Forêt de Tova.

The municipality marker contains approved vineyards in the Ajaccio wine-growing region .
