Bastelicaccia ( Corsican : A Bastirgaccia ) is a French commune in the southern part of the island of Corsica with 3983 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Corse-du-Sud department . Bastelicaccio belongs to the Arrondissement of Ajaccio and the Canton of Ajaccio-5 . The inhabitants are called Bastelicacciais (or Corsican: Bastirgaccesi ).

geography

Bastelicaccia is about eleven kilometers east of Ajaccio between the Prunelli and Gravona rivers . In the northeastern tip of the municipality lies the 888 meter high Monte Aragnasco . Bastelicaccia is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cuttoli-Corticchiato in the north, Ocana in the northeast, Eccica-Suarella in the east, Cauro in the southeast, Grosseto-Prugna in the south, Ajaccio in the west and Sarrola-Carcopino in the northwest.

The municipality is located in the Ajaccio wine region . Route Nationale 196 runs through the municipality .
