Eccica-Suarella ( Corsican Eccica è Suaredda ) is a French commune with 1,179 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Corse-du-Sud department in the Corsica region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Ajaccio and the municipality of Celavu-Prunelli .
geography
Eccica-Suarella is located at an average of 235 m above sea level, about 17 kilometers east of Ajaccio between the Mediterranean coast and the foothills of the Corsican mountains. The community consists of the mountain villages Suarella at 230 m and Eccica as well as a few small hamlets and mountain farms. Suarella is the larger village; here is the town hall (mairie). Eccica-Suarella is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ocana in the north, Tolla in the northeast, Bastelica in the east, Cauro in the south and Bastelicaccia in the west. The municipal area of 1,447 hectares, 251 hectares of which are forests, is bordered to the north by the Prunelli River . The lowest point in the municipality is 8 m on the banks of the Prunelli in the far west, the highest point at 538 m is the Punta di San Martinu mountain in the east of the municipality.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are two bakers, two butchers and two florists in the municipality of Eccica-Suarella. The vineyards in the southwest of the municipality are part of the Ajaccio wine-growing region with the status of an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC).
The RN 196 leads through the municipality of Eccica-Suarella from Ajaccio to Sartène .
