Iwan Prys Williams (born July 18, 1939 ) is a British astronomer and asteroid explorer.

In 1963 he graduated from the University of London with a degree in astronomy and astrophysics .

Between 1993 and 2002 he discovered, together with his colleagues Alan Fitzsimmons , Michael J. Irwin and Donal O'Ceallaigh , a total of seven asteroids on the Canary Island of La Palma .

The asteroid (3634) Iwan was named after him.
