(3634) Ivan is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 16 March 1980 by the Swedish astronomer Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the British astronomer Iwan P. Williams .
