Ivan Sobolew (born March 3, 1983 ) is a former Belarusian ski jumper .

Career

Sobolev made his international debut at the 2003 Winter Universiade in Tarvisio as a member of the Belarusian team. In team jumping he and his teammates reached ninth place. In February he made his debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in Zakopane . As 49th, however, he remained behind the points.

A little later he started team jumping at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme . With the team he reached 12th place. At the beginning of the 2003/04 season he started again in the Continental Cup jumping in Finland . However, he could not reach the points in either Rovaniemi or Lahti .

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf , he missed qualification in both individual competitions. In the team competition on the normal hill he reached 13th place with the team, and 15th on the large hill.

After a two-year international break, Sobolew started at the Winter Universiade 2007 in Pragelato . After seventh place with the team, he landed 41st in the singles. After he reached fifth place in the FIS Cup in August 2008 in Štrbské Pleso , Sobolew started again in the Continental Cup. However, he was again without points.

In February 2009 he took part in the qualification for normal hill individual jumping of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , but clearly missed the competition.
