Józef Marcinkowski
Józef Marcinkowski (pseudonyms: "Tracz" (sawmill), "Kłos" (ear, ear)) (born July 4, 1905 in Biskupice Radłowskie , Poland , † 1993 in Myślenice , Lesser Poland Voivodeship ) was a Polish teacher, lawyer , activist and Politician.
Life
education and profession
Marcinkowski came from a farming family. After finishing high school in Tarnów in 1924, he studied Polish philology , history and law at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow . In 1930 he received the title of Magister in Philosophy and in 1936 a Magister in Law. From 1928 Marcinkowski worked as a teacher.
Social Commitment
From 1924 Marcinkowski was active in the Malopolska Youth Association (Małopolski Związek Młodzieży, MZM) in Krakow. From 1926 he belonged to the Polish People's Academic Youth (Polska Akademicka Młodzież Ludowa, 1922-1939). In 1928 he was appointed president of this organization. He was also a co-founder of the Rural Youth (Związek Młodzieży Wiejskiej, ZMW). From 1930 to 1937 he worked in the Society for Education in Cracow. Marcinkowski was editor of the weekly Znicz . Znicz was a village social education magazine published in Warsaw from 1930 to 1939. Marcinkowski was a co-founder and member of the Society of Friends of the Museum of Wincenty Witos .
Marcinkowski was a social and political activist. In the interwar period he was arrested several times for social and political activities. In 1948 he retired from political activity.
