Life

Jörg Bruchertseifer is a qualified engineer and lives in Augsburg .

In 2012 he succeeded Karl-Peter Naumann as Chairman of Pro Bahn. When he was elected, Bruchertseifer stated that he wanted to focus his tenure on continuous travel chains "especially ... in direct comparison to the car". In 2014 he was re-elected, although there had been a media-led dispute with some state associations beforehand. At the Bundesverbandstag on March 12, 2016, Bruchertseifer no longer ran for chairman; Detlef Neuss was elected as his successor . He continues to be a deputy member of the board.

As federal chairman, he was critical of the tariff structure of the railways and the closure of routes. In 2014 he spoke out in favor of stronger video surveillance of the train stations in order to increase the "feeling of security of the passengers", as well as a decriminalization of customers willing to pay.
