Jörg Kleudgen (born July 20, 1968 in Zülpich ), formerly Jörg Bartscher-Kleudgen , is a German writer , publisher , musician and singer of the gothic rock band The House of Usher . He is co-founder and former editor of Gothic - Magazine for Underground Culture and the label Équinoxe Records , maintains the small publishing house for fantastic literature Goblin-Press and is editor of the fantastic magazine Cthulhu Libria Neo .

Life

He discovered his enthusiasm for fantastic literature together with his school friend Kai Meyer. Writers like HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe had a great influence . At the beginning of the 1990s, while studying architecture, he began to direct his own literary and musical work into more professional paths.

He published a travel guide about legendary and fairytale places in the Eifel-Mosel region as well as several books with short stories and wrote novels and anthologies both alone and with other authors such as Uwe Voehl , Michael Knoke and Alisha Bionda . He also created an independent cosmos of fantastic fears with the Cosmogenesis collection of short stories .

Inspired by the fantasy and the naming was founded by him and guitarist Markus Pick Gothic rock band The House of Usher , referring to Poe's short story The Fall of the House of Usher refers.

The record label Équinoxe Records, founded by Kleudgen in 1998 with Thorsten Kübler, has also specialized in Gothic Rock and has released bands such as Ikon , Reptyle , Mystigma , Sweet Ermengarde , Avaritia and Neon Dream .

Kleudgen was awarded the Vincent Prize for the best novel three times , namely in 2011 together with Michael Knoke for Totenmaar , 2013 for Saburac and 2015 for Teatro Oscura . In 2012 he also received the special award for Goblin Press, the promotion of young authors and the literature pages in the music magazines Gothic & Gothic grimoire .
