Jörg Langer
Jörg Langer (born May 3, 1972 ) is a German computer games journalist , founder and long - time editor -in- chief of the game magazine GameStar and now runs the Internet game magazine GamersGlobal .
biography
Langer started early to deal with computers and computer games, and gained experience with Amiga , C64 and the first MS-DOS - PCs . After graduating from high school in 1992, he began studying computational linguistics at the University of Stuttgart . At the beginning of 1994, together with Florian Stangl, the editors-in-chief Heinrich Lenhardt and Boris Schneider hired him as a junior editor for the PC Player magazine . In favor of his career as a journalist, Langer broke off his studies and got a permanent position in the editorial office in Poing near Munich .
In the following years he rose to the position of deputy editor-in-chief. At the beginning of May 1997 he began with Charles Glimm and Toni Schwaiger to develop the concept for their own magazine called GameStar for the IDG publishing house. The first regular issue appeared in early September 1997, and GameStar quickly became an industry giant. Langer was editor-in-chief for the next seven years, but left the editorial team with the relaunch issue 10/2004.
In 2005, Langer became a freelancer . The purely digital game magazine GamersGlobal.de , founded by his company Publishing Office Langer, was launched in 2009 . It was conceived in the spring of 2007 and has been fully operational since 2009.
Together with Heinrich Lenhardt (formerly with Boris Schneider-Johne , Anatol Locker , Winnie Forster ), Langer makes the game veteran podcast, which is published regularly and deals with topics from the world of the computer and video game industry.
