Jörg Müller (forest scientist)

Jörg Müller (* 1972 or 1973 ) is a German forest scientist , professor of animal ecology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and deputy director of the Bavarian Forest National Park .

Life

Müller completed a degree in forest science, which he graduated with honors from the Technical University of Munich in 1998 . After passing the state examination in forestry in 2000, working for the Bavarian State Forestry Administration and doing research at the Bavarian State Institute for Forests and Forestry (LWF) in Freising, he received his doctorate in forest science from the Technical University of Munich in 2006 with summa cum laude.

From 2006 he worked as a zoologist in the Bavarian Forest National Park Administration and from 2010 as a private lecturer at the chair for terrestrial ecology at the Technical University of Munich.

Since 2013, Müller has been the deputy head of the Bavarian Forest National Park and head of the department for nature conservation and research there.

In 2016, Müller was appointed professor of animal ecology and head of the ecological station at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg.

His main research interests include forest ecology and nature conservation. ecological concepts in nature conservation and deadwood ecology.
