About 27 kilometers northeast of Bourges is Montigny in the Champagne berrichonne (in the Berry ). Montigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Humbligny in the north and north-west, Neuvy-Deux-Clochers in the north and north-east, Veaugues in the east and north-east, Jalognes in the east, Azy in the south, Rians in the south-west and Saint-Céols in the west and south-west.
