Jörg Müller (psychotherapist)

Jörg Müller (* 1943 in Bernkastel-Kues ) is a German psychotherapist .

Life

Müller visited the Bischöfliches Konvikt in Prüm and passed his Abitur there in 1966. In 1969 he founded the hospital station "Radio Piccolo" in Trier, Saarburg and Hermeskeil. He completed his studies in theology and philosophy in Trier and Innsbruck in 1971 with a diploma. He went on to study psychology in Salzburg, which he completed with a doctorate in 1975, and completed additional training in graphology, hypnotherapy and group psychology. He passed his second state examination in education and psychotherapy and has been working as a psychotherapist since 1976. He was a professor (grammar school teacher) for religion and psychology in Salzburg and also taught in Tamsweg and as a senior teacher in Trier, Saarburg and Bernkastel-Kues.

In 1989 he entered the community of the Catholic Apostolate ( Pallottine ) and was ordained a priest in Freising in 1994. In 1995 he founded the “Healing Community” as a therapeutic facility in the Pallotti House in Freising. The focus of the facility is "Christian psychotherapy".

In 2001 Jörg Müller was a speaker at the first congress of the Forum of German Catholics with the thesis: The Pope has more fans than Michael Jackson . In 2011 he spoke out against celibacy in connection with the “ Memorandum 2011 ” . In addition, he has long been campaigning for the admission of "remarried divorced people" to the Eucharist. He also calls for the diaconate of women in the Catholic Church and criticizes " [anxiously] clinging to old structures (eg the pastor as the highest church leader or celibacy as a condition for this) ."
