Jörg Rettig

Jörg Rettig (born June 19,  1964 in Warin ) is a former German sailor.

Life

He learned to sail at BSG Aufbau Sternberg and attended the children's and youth sports school from the eighth grade . In 1983 Rettig and Thomas Heldt won the junior world championship in the 470 boat class . He won the sailing championships of the German Democratic Republic as an athlete of SC Traktor Schwerin in 1983 (470) and 1989 ( Flying Dutchman ), in 1985 he was third in the 470 class. Rettig was overall German champion in the Ixylon boat class in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003. In 1997 he won the silver medal in the same class and in 1996 the bronze medal at the German championships.

Rettig completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter , at the age of 31 he trained as a fish keeper and achieved the title of master craftsman. At the beginning of 2003 he took over the management of the Sternberger Seenfischerei company , which his father had previously held.
