Jörkk Mechenbier

Jörkk Mechenbier (* 1977 in Saarland ) is a German musician and author. He is the singer of the bands Love A and the musician duo Schreng Schreng & La La as well as Trixsi .

Life

Jörkk Mechenbier was born in Saarland in 1977 and has a daughter. One of his first projects was the indie punk band ultrafair , with whom he wrote an EP in 2005 and the album Alles Rogers, Onkel Heinz ?! in 2007 . published. In 2007 he founded the artist duo Schreng Schreng & La La with Lasse Paulus . Mechenbier and Paulus met in a flat share in Düsseldorf and then began to make music together. So far they have released two albums and several singles together. Paulus usually plays an acoustic guitar, Mechenbier accompanies him with his singing. Overall, the duo's songs are much quieter than those of Love A , but Jörkk Mechenbier sings in both bands with his unmistakably high voice.

In 2010 Jörkk Mechenbier founded the post-punk band Love A in Trier with Stefan Weyer, Dominik Mercier, Karl Brausch and Mario Regneri . So far the band has released four albums: Actually (2011), Somehow (2013), Jagd und Hund (2015) and Nothing is New (2017). The band's songs are often marked by anger, but also by trivialities of everyday life.

Mechenbier is also represented with features in songs by other bands, including Frittenbude and the Antilopen Gang .

In May 2018 the novel Klara was published , which was written by Jörkk Mechenbier together with the authors Dirk Bernemann and Jan Off and published by Ventil Verlag .

In June 2020 he entered the German album charts as the singer of the band Trixsi with their debut album Frau Gott at number 83. He is also working on the third album of his band Schreng Schreng & La La, which is due to be released in spring 2021.
