Jewish cemetery (Niedermeiser)
The Jewish cemetery Niedermeiser is a Jewish cemetery in Niedermeiser ( city of Liebenau ) in the Hessian district of Kassel . It is a protected cultural monument .

The 736 m² cemetery , which is next to the Christian cemetery, was rebuilt in 1854. Up to 1929, the year of the last burial , at least 19 burials had taken place. Of the original grave stones for Jews from Liebenau-Niedermeiser and the surrounding area, who died between 1854 and 1929, only one remains. There is also the foundation stone of the cemetery from 1853 and a memorial stone that was erected after 1945. This bears the text: “The bones of the Jews from Niedermeiser rest here. This memorial stone is a witness to all the gravestones that once stood at this location and were destroyed by Nazi terror. 1938–1945. "

During the National Socialist era , the cemetery was desecrated and cleared several times .
In 2000, the Jewish cemetery was desecrated on the night of July 15-16. A memorial stone was torn from its anchorage and dragged in front of the cemetery area.
