Jewish cemetery (Villmar)
The Jewish cemetery Villmar is a Jewish cemetery in Villmar in the Limburg-Weilburg district in Central Hesse . The cemetery is a protected cultural monument . It is located on the road to Aumenau on the edge of the industrial park.
history
The Jewish cemetery in Villmar was laid out after 1920 and served as a burial place for the Jewish residents living in the village. These formed a Jewish community around the Villmar synagogue, established in 1844 . Before the cemetery was set up, the cemetery in Arfurt was the ritual burial place. There are only a few tombstones ( mazewot ) in the small cemetery today .
