Jewish cemetery in Nordstetten

The Nordstetten Jewish Cemetery in Nordstetten , a district of Horb am Neckar in the Freudenstadt district in northern Baden-Württemberg , is a protected cultural monument .

The Jewish community in Nordstetten had buried their dead in the Jewish cemetery in Mühringen until 1791 . In 1791 a separate Jewish cemetery was laid out on a hill in the direction of Dettensee , which is 20.01 ares in size. Today there are still 299 tombstones and the last burial took place in 1938.

The grave of the author Berthold Auerbach (1812–1882), who was widely read in the 19th century and who was born in Nordstetten, is located in this Jewish cemetery.
