Jürg Jäggi

Jürg Jäggi (born January 1, 1947 in Thun ; † July 26, 2011 ) was a Swiss ice hockey goalkeeper .

Career

Thun's goalkeeper, Jürg Jäggi, first played in Lerchenfeld and Thun before joining SC Bern in 1973 via HC Ambrì-Piotta . Jäggi had previously turned down an offer from HC La Chaux-de-Fonds . There he quickly established himself as a clear goalkeeper and won the Swiss championship four times with the Berners , in 1974 , 1975 , 1977 and 1979 . The goalkeeper with the jersey number 20 became known for his eye-catching goalkeeper mask, which was his distinctive symbol. After his career as an active player, Jäggi worked as head of security at the Thun arsenal.

International

For Switzerland , Jäggi took part in the B-World Championships in 1973 and 1979 on an international level . He made a total of 19 international matches for Switzerland.
