Tårs is a small harbor village with fewer than 200 inhabitants on the west coast of the Danish island of Lolland at the northern transition from the Great Belt (also known as the "Langelandsbelt") to the Nakskov Fjord . It belongs to the parish community ( Danish : Sogn ) Sandby Sogn in the Lolland municipality in the Sjælland region . Before the Danish administrative reform on January 1, 2007 , the parish first belonged to Lollands Nørre Herred , from 1970 then to Ravnsborg Kommune in Storstrøms Amt .
Tårs has a marina southwest of the village and a ferry port southeast of the village. From Tårs there is a ferry from LangelandsFærgen to Spodsbjerg on Langeland . This ferry connection is part of Primærrute 9 .
