The Danish national road network 9 , even just rod 9 mentioned, one is the main road in Denmark , which cross the islands Fyn ( . Dt : Fyn ), Tåsinge , Langeland and Lolland runs.

The section on the island of Fyn is 64 km long and runs from the intersection Ørbækvej and Munkerisvej to the east of Odense and from there as a highway through rings to Kværndrup and Svendborg N. After leaving the Svendborg city area the rod 9 as a trunk road running and runs via Tåsinge to Langeland , where it becomes the road at Rudkøbing that leads to the ferry terminal in Spodsbjerg . Lolland on the rod sets of Tårs according Maribo , where she together with the Sydmotorvejen E 47 (dt .: motorway ) to Sakskøbing leads, from where the Primærute 9 as a country road continues Nykøbing runs. There she crosses on the Kong Frederik d. IX's Bro den Guldborgsund and ends at the E 55 . The section on the island of Lolland is 60 kilometers long.

Fyn - Langeland

Primærrute 9 has its starting point in the east of Odense, where the secondaryrute 160 begins, but leads in the direction (north) east to Nyborg . This starting point is the junction on Ring 2 between Ørbækvej and Munkerisvej . Route 9 leads southeast along Ørbækvej through the districts of Neder Holluf and Tornbjerg . The road then comes to a roundabout , which connects to Ring 3 to the northeast and to secondary route 301 to Ørbæk in the southeast. Primærrute 9 continues to the south-southwest as Svendborgmotorvejen.

Immediately after the start of Svendborgmotorvejen, it crosses Fynske Motorvej ( E 20 , English: Funen motorway ) at the Odense motorway junction , which is developed as a complete clover leaf design . The road continues along Svendborgmotorvejen for its entire length to Svendborg. On the way she meets the Primærrute 43 to Faaborg at Årslev , at Rings on the Secondærrute 323 to Assens or Ørbæk, at Kværndrup on the Primærrute 8 to Faaborg or Nyborg and shortly before Svendborg on the Primærrute 44 to Faaborg or the Secondærrute 163 to Nyborg. In addition, the secondary route 167 winds around it over the entire length of the highway: For long stretches it follows the country roads that formed the primary route 9 before the highway opened.

After the end of the expansion as a motorway, route 9 continues in the north-western districts of Svendborg as Sundbrovej (English: Sundbrückenstraße ), a high-quality country road that is continuously developed with level-free crossings, all the way to Svendborgsundbroen . After crossing Svendborgsund , the road continues as Sundbrovej across the island of Tåsinge and over the Siødæmningen ( Eng .: Siø dam ), the island of Siø and the Langelandsbroen to Rudkøbing on the island of Langeland . However, it does not touch Rudkøbing, but runs past the city immediately north. East of the city, Primærrute 9 converges with Secondærrute 305 , which leads through the southern part of Langeland to Bagenkop . The two roads run together for about 1600 m, then the secondary route 305 branches off to the north in the direction of Lohals on the northern tip of the island. Route 9 runs from there as a motor vehicle road east to the ferry terminal in Spodsbjerg , from where the car ferry crosses to Tårs on Lolland , where Primær route 9 also continues east.

Lolland - Falster

On Lolland, Primærrute 9 continues from the ferry port in Tårs as the Spodsbjergvej motor vehicle road in an east- south- east direction and passes Nakskov to the north. On the way she crosses the secondary route 289 , which leads north to Horslunde and south to Nakskov. The motor vehicle road ends shortly before Halsted to continue to the east as the conventional Maribovej road .

The Sekundærrute 275 starts on the tail 9 between Halsted and Stokkemarke and runs south through Søllested to Rødbyhavn . In the vicinity of Stokkemarke, Primærrute 9 changes its name to Vestre Landevej . Behind Stokkemarke the road swings to the southeast. Secondary rod 291 begins here at Sørup . This leads west via Søllested to Nakskov.

Before Maribo , Primærrute 9 runs eastwards from ramp number 48 Maribo with the Sydmotorvejen (German: Südautobahn ). This section is part of the European route 47 (E47). Route 9 leaves the motorway again at exit number 46, Sakskøbing . In a westerly direction the Primærrute 9 runs approx. 750 m with the Secondærrute 153 together from Nykøbingvej to the entrance to the motorway. Route 153 runs as Nykøbingvej in a north-easterly direction to Guldborg , and as Stadionvej in a westerly direction to Våbensted .

Route 9 runs from here in a south-easterly direction as Nykøbingvej . At the municipal border between Lolland and Guldborgsund Kommune , the name of the route changes to Sakskøbingvej . It then passes outside of Toreby and runs east on Kong Frederik d. IX's bro too. South of Sundby , over the bridge and in the Danish national road network is Nykøbing 9 Brovejen (dt .: Brückenstrasse ). On Falster, the road swings north-northeast to its end point on European route 55 at Nykøbing F station .

outlook

The Svendborg Municipality and the Langeland municipality have developed a joint proposal, after the rod between the Svendborgmotorvejen in Svendborg and the Sydmotorvejen on Lolland will be expanded. The extension of the Primærrute and the introduction of a fast ferry between Spodsbjerg and Tårs should make it easier to get from South Fyn to Germany . In October 2009 it was agreed to start a preliminary investigation into the prospects of the proposal.

The preliminary investigation is carried out by Vejdirektoratet , the highest Danish road construction authority , and is expected to be completed in 2011.

In addition, Vejdirektorat Syddanmark is planning to rebuild the crossing of route 9 with Bjernemarksvej and Eskærvej in Vindeby . The budget for the renovation is 5.2 million Danish kroner .

The Folketing , the Danish parliament , has decided that the E 55 should be led around Nykøbing Falster to the east by a bypass. The 222 million crown project is due to be opened to traffic in 2014. With the opening, route 9 will probably be extended to the east by that part of the access to the bypass road that is still part of the E 55 today.
