Ferry connection Bagenkop – Kiel

From September 9, 1911 to 1914, the ferry connection from Sydfyenske Dampskibsselskab (SFDS) was served by the steamship Rut . The ship Bagenkop followed from 1932 to 1934 .

It was not until 1965 that the Langeland-Kiel lines I / S reopened with the Langeland , followed in 1977 by the Langeland To , which was renamed Langeland II in 1978 . From 1989 the Langeland III operated .

At the end of 1998 the Langeland III was sold to Croatia and from March 1, 1999 to June 30, 1999 the Apollo was chartered. With the abolition of duty-free trade on July 1, 1999, the ferry route was closed. From May 5, 2000 to October 31, 2000, the route was operated with the Difko Fyn . The history of the ferry route ended with the service of the ferry line through the Langeland from April 14, 2003 to November 4, 2003 .

After the Kiel – Bagenkop ferry line was discontinued, Bagenkop lost an important source of income with day tourism ( butter trips ).

The Runddysse von Lunden is located northeast of the Keldsnor Fyr lighthouse, southeast of Bagenkop. To the south of Bagenkop are the passage grave of Hulbjerg and the Runddysser of Gulstav .
