Bagenkop Sogn (until October 1, 2010: Bagenkop Kirkedistrikt ( German: church district ) in Magleby Sogn ) is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Langeland in the Great Belt in southern Denmark . Until October 1, 2010 it was only a church district in Magleby Sogn. When all church districts in Denmark were dissolved on this date, it became an independent Sogn.

530 inhabitants live in the parish, 456 of them in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). The Bagenkop Kirke is located in the parish.

The only neighboring community in the east is the "Muttersogn" Magleby Sogn.

history

Until 1970 Magleby Sogn belonged to Harde Langelands Sønder Herred in what was then Svendborg Amt , then to Sydlangeland Municipality in Fyns Amt , which became part of Langeland Municipality in the Syddanmark region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .
