Götz Harnischfeger

Götz Harnischfeger (born January 12, 1939 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ; † April 22, 2016 ) was a German pharmacist , chemist and botanist .

Life

Götz Harnischfeger studied pharmacy at the University of Frankfurt and was licensed as a pharmacist in 1965 . He completed a PhD in chemistry from Florida State University . After receiving his PhD in 1970, he was a post-doc at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1976 he completed his habilitation at the University of Göttingen and received the veni legendi in botany . In 1982 he was appointed adjunct professor for the biochemistry of plants. From 1979 to 2004 he held various management positions in the phytopharmaceutical industry, including at Schaper & Brümmer .

He was considered an expert on the European Pharmacopoeia and was particularly committed to the further development of Hager's Handbook of Pharmaceutical Practice . Together with Wolfgang Grimm and Martin Tegtmeier, he is the author of the standard work on stability testing in pharmacy . He was a member of the German Botanical Society , German Pharmaceutical Society, Society of German Chemists and the German Society for Medicinal Plant Research. In 1999 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his health policy, scientific and economic commitment .

Since 1962 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Badenia (Strasbourg) Frankfurt am Main in the CV .

Götz Harnischfeger was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land and was a member of the German Association of the Holy Land . In 1996 he was named a Knight of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Carlo Furno and invested in the Fulda Cathedral on October 12, 1996 by Anton Schlembach , Grand Prior of the Order in Germany, and later appointed Officer and Grand Officer .
