Jürgen Gaulocher

Jürgen Gaulocher (* 1966 in Ostalbkreis ; † 1998 in Vienna ) was a German artist .

life and work

Gaulocher was involved in at least four theater productions, once as an outfitter and three times as a costume designer. In 1997 he and Alexander Lintl were responsible for furnishing the Hall of Hair at the Life Ball in Vienna City Hall . In the same year he was involved in the shooting of the only Ostbahn-Kurti movie, Blutrausch , directed by Thomas Roth .

He died of suicide in 1998. He was buried in the Trinity cemetery in Schwäbisch Gmünd . His mother, Elsa Gaulocher († 2008) also lies in this grave.

Only posthumously did his paintings, oil on canvas, become known to a wider public through exhibitions. The Lambda-Nachrichten wrote about the exhibition from 2005: “The retrospective, summarized under the theme of lust, shows pictures in which different 'cliché gays', such as the leather gay, the cowboy, the sailor are depicted. The portrayed are mostly not depicted statically, but perform actions within an image. "
