Jürgen Kaminsky (born December 7, 1957 in Essen ) is a former soccer player and coach .

Career

At the age of 19 Jürgen Kaminsky played in the professional field at Rot-Weiss Essen, alongside Frank Mill and Horst Hrubesch . In the first season he came to his only Bundesliga assignment, since the club was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga North in the 1976/77 season . In the following season he missed promotion to the 1st Bundesliga with Mill, Hrubesch and Dietmar Klinger in the relegation phase against 1. FC Nürnberg . After this season Kaminsky was one of the big names within the team and reached the relegation phase for the 1st Bundesliga with his team . There Kaminsky initiated the defeat in the first leg with an own goal 5-1, so that a 3-1 win in the second leg was unfortunately not enough. Until the end of the 1983 season he played for the "Red and White" and came on a Bundesliga appearance and 167 missions (20 goals) in the second division. He then moved within the city to the upper division black and white Essen . After four years in the league, he ended his career as a footballer there.

Coaching activities

After his career as an active footballer, he took over the coaching position at the Essen club "VfB Essen-Nord". In September 1993 he coached the amateurs of his former employer Rot-Weiss Essen for three months in the 2nd Bundesliga. The following season he took the position of coach at the Essen upper division team ETB SW Essen and ended his coaching career after just one season.
