Jürgen Lecher (* 1953 in Bad Waldsee ) is a German photographer and photo artist .

Jürgen Lecher studied at the University of Göttingen , where he received his diploma in geology in 1981 . He then retrained as a computer programmer and worked from 1982 to 1984 as a freelance photographer in Madrid . From 1984 to 1987 he trained as a photographer in the Eichhorn studio in Frankfurt am Main and from 1987 worked as a freelance photographer in Frankfurt. From 1988 to 1993 he was a member of the artist group kip - Kunst im Park, and from 1989 to 1995 he taught as a freelance lecturer in photography at the August-Bebel-Schule in Offenbach am Main .

Working method

Jürgen Lecher is best known for his collages , which he puts together from several individual photos framed in black glass-aluminum frames. Similar to stitching , he composes his panoramas from up to 9 × 7 individual black and white photos printed in silver gelatine on baryta paper. In doing so, he consciously changes the camera angle from a constant recording location in such a way that falling lines occur by remaining in place and turning around himself.
