Jürgen Prott

Jürgen Prott (* 1942 in Münster ) is a German sociologist.

Career

After secondary school, Prott completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter and worked as a typesetter from 1962 to 1964. On the second educational path he obtained the university entrance qualification and studied at the University of Economics and Politics in Hamburg and graduated as an economist . He then continued his studies in sociology and economic and social history at the University of Hamburg .

From November 1978 to April 1981 he was professor of communication science at the Institute for Journalism at the Free University of Berlin . From May 1981 to February 2008 he was Professor of Industrial and Business Sociology at the University of Hamburg. He has researched and published on issues of job satisfaction and company organization , occupational and trade union sociology .
