Jürgen Saler (born October 4, 1977 in Knittelfeld ) is a former Austrian football player on the position of midfielder .
Career
Saler began his career with his home club Red Star Knittelfeld in Styria . After playing in the youth of SK Sturm Graz , he joined DSV Leoben in 1996 in the 2nd division . In 1998 he went on to Vienna to the Bundesliga club SK Rapid Wien , to whom he remained loyal for five years. In the beginning he was even a regular of the green-whites and was runner-up in 1999 and 2001 respectively. During his less successful time in Vienna on February 20, 2002, he won the jackpot of 376,822 euros each in the Austrian lottery drawing 6 out of 45, together with another winner with six correct numbers. In the same year he became the father of a son for the first time, and a daughter followed a year and a half later.
After Kapfenberger SV was promoted to the second highest Austrian league in 2003, Saler decided to move to Kapfenberg . There he celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga in the 2007/08 season. But Saler left the club in summer 2008 and signed with the regional division WAC / St. Andrä . He then had to cope with a stroke of fate from March 2009 when his wife and mother of the two children suffered a stroke while sleeping and he took leave of absence to rehabilitate his wife for months. In 2010 the club managed to get promoted to the first division with Jürgen Saler as the leading player , before moving to the national division FC Zeltweg for a few months, where he started his active career in December of the same year, mainly due to injury and private circumstances. finished. At this point in time, he already had various trainer offers, but did not take any of them to take care of his family.
In September 2013 he was appointed the new coach of the Oberliga club ESV Knittelfeld , but ended this engagement after two years due to unsuccessfulness. Today he works as an insurance agent for the Generali Group Austria . In February 2017, ESV Knittelfeld engaged him again as the coach of the first combat team; this commitment lasted until the summer of the same year.
