Jürgen Schult (born August 20, 1939 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German soccer player who played 18 Bundesliga games for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 1966/67 season and scored five goals, including the first Bundesliga club in the club's history.

career

Viktoria Cologne, 1961 to 1964

From the association league Niederrhein, from Düsseldorfer SC 99 , Jürgen Schult made his way to the 1961/62 round to SC Viktoria Cologne in the Oberliga West . Coach Hennes Weisweiler immediately brought the newcomer from the amateur field to use in the first game of the 1961/62 series. In the promotion round, Schult played two games with two goals and Düsseldorf narrowly prevailed against FK Pirmasens with the same number of points and rose to the Bundesliga. VfR Mannheim, 1967 to 1970

With coach Oswald Pfau , striker Franz Schäffner (27 goals) and new signing Schult, the Mannheim lawn athletes took sixth place in the 1967/68 round in the Regionalliga Süd. In the next two rounds, however, the table went down, in 1969 VfR landed 14th and in 1970 15th. Schult played a total of 81 games with 15 goals in the Regionalliga Süd for Mannheim from 1967 to 1970. The 31-year-old stayed in Mannheim, his adopted home, even after his active career.
