Jürgen Soenke

Jürgen Soenke (born October 10, 1907 in Lübeck , † March 10, 1983 in Minden ) was a German art historian .

Life

After a wide-ranging study of German , Slavic , history and art history , he was due to his thesis "Studies on contemporary censorship systems" in 1941 from the University of Greifswald to Dr. phil. PhD.

After serving as a soldier and imprisonment, he found his family in Petershagen . He was a teacher of art and history and worked as an art historian , with the research of the Weser Renaissance his focus. The European authors' association “ The Cog ” awarded him a special prize in 1965 for his services to the art and cultural history research of the Weserland and the city of Minden . In 1976 the Minden History Society made him an honorary member.
