After the father had fallen two years earlier, the mother moved with her four children to their mother in Bad Kissingen in the summer of 1943 in order to avoid the Allied air raids on Berlin . In 1957 he graduated from high school and then began a career as an officer candidate in the Bundeswehr . His active career as a soldier took place from 1957 to 1995. From 1965 to 1969 Jürgen von Falkenhayn was company commander of the 3rd Kp./PzGrenBtl. 41 in Göttingen. In addition, von Falkenhayn tells the story of his West Prussian family of officers and landowners. He asked questions about the drive and character of his father, who already served as a hunter officer in World War I and was awarded both classes of the Iron Cross . On the basis of letters, certificates, certificates and oral traditions, Jürgen von Falkenhayn dealt critically with the behavior of Wehrmacht officers and the so-called "lost generation" and their ideals. Jürgen von Falkenhayn did not go into detail in his book about the merits of his great-uncle Erich von Falkenhayn , who in 1917 "... had prevented the deportation of all Jews from Palestine planned by the Turks". (Note: Palestine was part of the Ottoman Empire and was conquered by British associations and rebellious Arabs, which Erich von Falkenhayn could not prevent. His merit was to have prevented a deportation of all Jews from Palestine planned by the Turks.)
