Jānis Rozītis (March 7th July / March 20, 1913 greg. In Sliven ; † May 3, 1942 in Riga ) was a Latvian football and ice hockey player .
Career and life
Soccer
Jānis Rozītis began his football career at RFK Riga . With the club he was twice Latvian champion in the 1930s. From 1937 he played for FK VEF Riga , an operating team of the state electrotechnical factory (Valsts elektrotehniskā fabrika).
On June 10, 1934 Rozītis played his first international match in the Latvian national football team in a friendly against Lithuania in Kaunas . He scored his first goal for Latvia almost to the day exactly a year later, on June 12, 1935 against Estonia . With the Latvian team he took part in the Baltic Cup in 1935 , 1937 and 1938 .
In total, he completed 26 international matches for Latvia between 1934 and 1939, in which the striker scored seven goals.

Jānis Rozītis took part with the Latvian national ice hockey team in 1936 at the Olympic Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .
death
Rozītis died in an accident on May 3, 1942 at the age of 29.
