Jessica Bird

Jessica Rowley Pell Bird , pseudonym : JR Ward (* 1969 in Massachusetts , New England ) is an American author who writes under her maiden name Jessica Bird as well as under her pseudonym.

Life and accomplishments

She is the daughter of W. Gillette Bird jun. and the architectural draftsman Maxine F. Bird. After graduating from Smith College in Northampton (Massachusetts) and its degree of law at Albany Law School in Albany Bird received a qualified lawyer admission for two US states. She then worked in the healthcare sector, where she headed the human resources department at the Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts .

With her husband Neville Blakemore, whom she married on October 6, 2001 in Barnstable ( Barnstable County , Massachusetts), she lived in Cambridge (Massachusetts) until 2003 . He was the owner of Bluegrass Consulting , a corporate consultancy in Cambridge. She left New England in August 2003 and has since lived in Louisville (Kentucky) (USA), the birthplace of her husband, who is a partner in the investment company Nova Group Investments .

Bird started writing at the age of ten and wrote her first romance novel as a teenager. At the urging of her husband and mother, she turned to an agent and published her first novel in 2002, the love story Leaping Hearts (Ivy Books, 2002, ISBN 0-8041-1988-0 ). Today she is in the USA and Europe, one of the most successful bestselling authors for the mixture of “ mystery ” and “romance”. Under the pseudonym JR Ward she writes a. a. the vampire series Black Dagger .

She is also a board member of Fort Ticonderoga , a private military museum in Ticonderoga , New York . The ruins of the fort were bought in 1820 by their ancestor, the New York merchant William Ferris Pell (1779–1840), then restored by the Pell family and opened to the public in 1909.
