Jaanus Sirel (born July 29, 1975 in Pechory ) is a former Estonian football player .

Career

Jaanus Sirel played for numerous Estonian clubs in his active career. Sirel, who was born in Pechory not far from the border with the Estonian SSR , began his career in 1992 at DAG Tartu . He first came to JK Tulevik Viljandi in 1998 via Lelle SK , where he played for two years . He came back to this club several times in his further playing career after Sirel played briefly at FC Kuressaare on the island of Saaremaa and at FC Elva . The defender played in Tartu from 2005 until his retirement in 2008 . First with JK Merkuur Tartu , then for JK Maag Tartu , which was dissolved in 2006, and most recently with JK Tammeka Tartu .

During the Baltic Cup in 2003 Sirel came to his only game in the Estonian national team under the Dutch national coach Arno Pijpers . In the game against Lithuania , which was lost 1: 5, Sirel was able to achieve the connecting goal to 1: 2.
