Wrestling development and national successes

She achieved her first major national success in 2010 when she won the California High School Championships for girls in her weight class. She then attended Missouri Valley College and in 2011 took 4th place in her weight class at both the US Junior Championship and the US Student Championship. She is now a member of the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club and lives in Colorado Springs, where she also trains at the US Wrestling Association's performance center. Your trainer is Terry Steiner.
In 2014 she became the US student champion in the weight class up to 58 kg body weight. In July 2014 she started at the Universities World Cup in Pécs, Hungary. In the weight class up to 58 kg, she won a bronze medal behind Emese Barka from Hungary and Oksana Nagornich from Russia.
In 2015 Jacarra Winchester was US runner-up in the weight class up to 58 kg and came 4th in the so-called "Trials" (World Championship elimination) in the same weight class. In 2016, she missed both the USA championship and the Olympic elimination for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro due to a foot injury sustained while playing football at college. After recovering, she was able to take part in the World Championship trials in the non-Olympic weight classes in autumn 2016, but only came third in her weight class.
In 2017 she became US runner-up in the weight class up to 55 kg and came third in the World Championship trials. In 2018 she became US champion for the first time and also won the World Championship trials in the weight class up to 55 kg. She repeated these successes in 2019.
Success at international championships
After her 3rd place at the student (university) world championship in Pécs, her 2nd place was in November 2014 at the "Bill Farrell" Memorial International in New York in the weight class up to 58 kg behind Kayla-Colleen Miracle and above Sarah Hildebrandt , both USA and Jillian Gallays, Canada, the next notable achievement in her international career. In 2017 she came in Colorado Springs at the "Dave Schultz" Memorial International in Colorado Springs in the weight class up to 55 kg behind Becka Leathers and Kelsey Campbell, both USA, on 3rd place.
In February 2018 Jacarra Winchester landed a remarkable tournament victory in Kiev in the weight class up to 57 kg body weight, ahead of Alina Akobjan, Ukraine, Salina Sidakowa , Belarus and Aljona Kolesnik, Azerbaijan. In March 2018 she was also part of the US team at the "Team" World Cup in Takasaki (Japan). She came to two missions and won over Liliana Juarez Andino from Sweden, but lost to Davaachimeg Erchembayar from Mongolia.
In October 2018 she competed for the first time in a women's world championship. In Budapest she won in the weight class up to 55 kg, first over Ramona Galambos from Hungary and Tatjana Kit from Ukraine, but then suffered defeats against Salina Sidakowa and Lianna de la Carida Montero Herrere from Cuba and took a good 5th place.

In the final of this Team World Cup, Japan beat the United States 7-3.
If Jacarra Winchester wants to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, she has to decide whether she wants to qualify in the weight class up to 53 kg or in the weight class up to 57 kg, because the weight class up to 55 kg is not Olympic at these games .
