Salina Sidakowa ( Belarusian Залина Сидакова ; born March 23, 1992 ) is a Belarusian wrestler . In 2012 she became vice world champion in the weight class up to 59 kg.

Career

Salina Sidakova started wrestling in 2002 as a teenager. She belongs to a sports club in Mogilew and was or is trained by Evgeni Lukomskij and Artur Saizew. She is a student. At a height of 1.66 meters, she wrestles in weight classes up to 55 or 59 kg body weight.

In 2009 she took part in an international championship for the first time and took 5th place in the weight class up to 51 kg at the European Junior Championship in Tbilisi . In the same year she was then in Zrenjanin Junior European Champion in the cadet age group ahead of Anastasija Buryatinska from Ukraine and Nadine Weingauge from Germany .

In 2010 it wasn't that successful. She came in the Junior European Championships in Samokow in the weight class up to 55 kg only on the 10th place and finished in the Junior World Championships in Budapest 8th place. She was also used at the European Championships in Moscow that year , but lost her first fight there against Tatjana Padilla from the United States and only came in 15th.

At the 2011 European Championships in Dortmund she came in 9th place in the weight class up to 59 kg after beating Fabienne Wittenwiler, Switzerland and losing to Anastasija Grigorjeva from Latvia . But she won her second medal at an international championship at the Junior European Championship this year in Zrenjanin with a 3rd place behind Maria Prevolaraki from Greece and Tatjana Debien, France . On the other hand, she had to pay a lot of money in the same year at the women's world championship in Istanbul , because she lost against Tatiana Lasarewa from Ukraine on points (0: 2 rounds, 0:11 points). This fact brought her only 40th and last place in the weight class up to 59 kg.

In 2012, Salina Sidakowa missed a razor- thin start at the Olympic Games in London at the Olympic qualification tournament in Taiyuan, China, with a third place in the weight class up to 55 kg behind Han Kum Ok , North Korea and Sündewiin Bjambatseren from Mongolia . In June 2012 she won a bronze medal at the Junior European Championships in Zagreb behind Petra Olli from Finland and Karoline Krawczyk from Poland. Finally, she managed to win her first medal at an international women's championship with a 2nd place at the 2012 Women's World Cup in addition to the Olympic Games in Sherwood Park, Canada . She only needed victories over Sheoran Shilpi from India and Tungalagiin Mönchtujaa from Mongolia to stand in the final battle against Zhang Lan from China, who won this fight.
