Jack Nuri (born January 9, 1972 in Çarşamba in the Turkish province of Samsun ) is the stage name of the Austrian cabaret artist and actor Nuri Özkan .

Live and act

Jack Nuri came to Vienna at the age of four and spent part of his childhood in this city, which he left again at the age of seven to attend elementary school in Samsun and learn the Turkish language. In 1982 he finally moved to Vienna, completed compulsory school and completed an apprenticeship as a car plumber, which he completed with a master craftsman's examination. He does basic military service with the Guard of the Austrian Armed Forces and then served for six months as part of a UN mission of the Austrian Army in Albania. In 1999 he provided disaster relief in Turkey for two months in the earthquake relief team of the Austrian Armed Forces.

In 2008 Nuri began his career as a cabaret artist and stand-up comedian. In the cabaret solo programs, he incorporates bizarre experiences from his professional environment in his own car workshop and his migration environment. He became Jack Nuri during his Taekwondo past - because his style reminded friends in the Turkish community of action hero Chuck Norris . Chuck became Jack and Nuri sounds a lot like Norris. He started on a small scale in competitions, performed in the Schubert Theater in Vienna, in the Theaterforum Wien and in the Vindobona . This is followed by appearances in the Kulisse Wien, the Orpheum Wien , the Aera and the Tschocherl cultural association. He not only shows his programs throughout Austria, but also appears in Germany and Switzerland.

As an ambassador for Global Family , who have made it their task to organize carefree holidays for children and parents in exceptional situations, Nuri contributes with his charitable appearances. As part of the “X-Change” project , he is regularly invited to support young people in schools with integration.

Jack Nuri works and lives in Vienna.
