Jack Smyth

Jack Smyth (actually John Clawson Smyth; * March 24, 1936 , † September 18, 2007 ) was a Canadian long and triple jumper .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 1954 , he was seventh in the triple jump. Four years later he won silver in the triple jump at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 with his personal best of 15.69 m and finished seventh in the long jump.

In 1959 he was fourth in the triple jump at the Pan American Games in Chicago .

Four times he was Canadian champion in the triple jump (1956, 1958-1960) and twice in the long jump (1958, 1959).

In 1982 he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame .
