Jack Stephens (production designer)
Jack Stephens is a British art director and production designer who won an Oscar for best production design and was nominated for that Oscar again.
Life
Stephens began his career as art director and production designer in the film industry in 1949 for the film Tolle Tage (Cardboard Cavalier) and was involved in the production of almost fifty films until 1986.
At the Academy Awards in 1981 , he and Pierre Guffroy won the Oscar for best production design in the drama Tess (1979) by Roman Polański with Nastassja Kinski , Peter Firth and Leigh Lawson in the leading roles .
In 1987 he was nominated again for an Oscar in this category with Stuart Craig , namely for the production design in Mission (1986) by Roland Joffé with Robert De Niro , Jeremy Irons and Ray McAnally .
