Jacob IV. Balthasar

Jacob IV. Balthasar (born July 10, 1618 in Anklam ; † November 21, 1691 in Greifswald ) was a deacon at the Greifswald Marienkirche.

Life

Jacob IV. Balthasar was the son of the Anklam pastor Jacob Balthasar (1594–1670) and Gertrud Burmeister (1598–1663). The later superintendent Augustinus Balthasar was his brother. Jacob Balthasar studied in Greifswald, Königsberg and Rostock, and in 1643 received his master's degree from the city school in Anklam, where he was promoted to vice-principal two years later. In 1656 he was a deacon at the Greifswald Marienkirche .

He was married four times (including Ilsabe Engelbrecht, the daughter of a Greifswald councilor) and had a total of 12 children.
