Jacob Selzer

Jacob Selzer (born September 24, 1887 in Worms-Pfeddersheim , † March 12, 1972 in Mülheim (Mosel) ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life

Selzer attended elementary school and then did a commercial apprenticeship. From 1906 to 1923 he was a wine merchant in Mülheim. In 1923 he became an independent wine merchant and hotelier in Mülheim. Between 1947 and 1967 he was President of the State Association of the Hotel and Restaurant Industry in Rhineland-Palatinate. In 1956 he was the founder of the Jacob Selzer Hotel Management School in Bad Kreuznach and chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate regional transport association.

After the Second World War he became a co-founder of the DP and the FDP. From 1947 to 1951 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament in the first electoral term . In the state parliament he was a secretary and member of the agricultural policy committee, border region committee, main committee, auxiliary committee for immigrants and the cultural policy committee.
