Jacqueline Lawrence (born April 25, 1982 in Cooma ) is an Australian kayak slalom driver who won a medal at the Olympic Games .

Jacqueline Lawrence started in 2006 at the World Cups in Athens , Augsburg and La Seu d'Urgell . In Athens she reached 15th place, in the Augsburg Ice Channel she was 27th and in La Seu d'Urgell she came 23rd. At the Australian Championships in January 2008, Lawrence finished fifth. She has two sisters, Rosalyn and Kate, who also start in the kayak slalom. To qualify for the Australian roster at the 2008 Summer Olympics , Jacqueline Lawrence had to beat her sister Kate, who has already won races in the World Cup. In the Olympic competition, which took place in the Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Park Shunyi , she finished tenth in the first run of the heat and sixth in the second run, so that she made it into the final as seventh overall. Lawrence was able to finish fourth in the first run and improved to second after a faultless run in the second, thus winning silver. Jacqueline Lawrence only had to admit defeat to the Slovak Elena Kaliská , who had a lead of 14.3 seconds. The silver medal of Lawrence was the second Australian medal in canoe slalom competitions at the Olympics after the silver medal of Danielle Woodward in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona .
