The Diocese of Klerksdorp ( lat. Dioecesis Klerkpolitana , English Diocese of Klerksdorp ) is in South Africa situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Klerksdorp .

history

The diocese Klerksdorp was on October 14, 1965 by Pope Paul VI. Erected from the cession of territory by the Diocese of Johannesburg as the Apostolic Prefecture of the West Transvaal .

The Apostolic Prefecture Western Transvaal was on February 27, 1978 by Paul VI. raised to the diocese and renamed the diocese of Klerksdorp . The diocese of Klerksdorp was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Pretoria as a suffragan . On June 5, 2007, the diocese of Klerksdorp was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Johannesburg as a suffragan.
