Jacqueline Wong Sum-wing (Chinese: 黃心穎, born January 23, 1989 in New York City ) is a Canadian actress and television presenter for Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), as well as a model and singer . She won second place in Miss Hong Kong 2012 and was in the top 12 at Miss World 2013. Wong is proficient in dancing and is fluent in Cantonese .

Life

Wong is the youngest of four children. Her oldest sister is Scarlet Wong, who is the artist and former host of ViuTV. When she was seven, she and her family moved to Vancouver . She attended the University of British Columbia in 2012 and earned a Master of Business Administration degree before applying for Miss Hong Kong 2012. She was raised in America by her Cantonese family and is fluent in English and Cantonese.

Career

Wong competed in Miss Hong Kong in 2012 and came in second. The following year she represented Hong Kong for Miss World 2013 and was in the top 12. Jacqueline was offered a contract with HK Television TVB and she received training as an entertainer . She began with guest and supporting roles until she eventually became a leading actress. Her first role was a cameo on the drama series The Hippocratic Crush II (2013). For her role in the drama Provocateur (2017) she won the My Favorite TVB Supporting Actress Award at the StarHub TVB Awards. She also released the Cantonese single In My Heart , a theme song for the sitcom Come Home Love: Lo And Behold .

Scandal with Andy Hui

On April 16, 2019, Wong became known in the media for her physical intimacy with married Hong Kong singer and actor Andy Hui. At the time of the incident, Hui was married to singer and actress Sammi Cheng, and Wong was in a committed relationship with actor Kenneth Ma . During a taxi ride, the two engaged in intimate acts that were recorded by the cab's camera. The video was later published by various news outlets. In order to limit the damage, Hui immediately publicly apologized to his wife and family members, citing that he was drunk that night, but admitted that it was not an excuse for his behavior. Wong later apologized publicly. Due to the scandal, Wong's role as "Chris Tsui" in Forensic Heroes IV was taken over by her good friend Roxanne Tong and the scenes with the roles were re-recorded. Her reputation and career have since been damaged. She left Hong Kong and moved to Los Angeles to escape the press.
